Break the Curse

In this week’s blog, I’ve been moved by the Holy Spirit to speak about financial struggles.  I’ve been asked frequently by people to help me pray for their finances.  My question to this request is “Do you tithed?”, and almost always I will get a “No”.

It’s amazing how we want God to bless our money, but don’t bother blessing him.  We want God to be the giver, but we never want to give.  It’s as if we are in a give-me, give-me relationship, with no intentions of being reciprocal with The Lord.

Since the beginning of time, man has always given God a sacrifice.  We first see this principal in Cain and Able (See Genesis 4:1-18).  Able gives God the best, and Cain gives God what’s left.  Able’s offering pleases God, yet makes God frown upon Cain’s.  What we don’t realize about tithing is that this principle helps eliminate a curse.  And not just a curse, but a double curse.  Meaning this too will affect our descendants.

Malachi 3:8-11 King James Version

8 Will a man rob God?  Yet ye have robbed me.  But ye say, “Wherein have we robbed thee?”.  In tithes and offerings.

9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

This chapter clearly helps enlighten us about the benefits of blessing God with just ten percent (10%) of our earnings.  People frown on ten percent (10%), not understanding that God is asking for just ten percent (10%), but gives us ninety percent (90%) in exchange.  After all, whenever you bless God with your tithes and offerings, your making a statement before him.  Your actions clearly say to him “I trust you!”.  See? God will never ask you for what you don’t have.  He will ask of you, what you do have.  And in exchange, He will make provision for you.

So, I urge you today, to break your curse.  Start by giving back to God today.  By doing this, God will rebuke the spirit that is robbing you from your blessings.  For Malachi clearly states that when we do so, God will not just rebuke the devour, but He will open up the windows of heaven, pouring out a blessing of over flow, braking the curse over you and your children.  Put a Stop to the curse.  Find a Church or a Ministry that you can sow in your tithes and offerings.  Help the gospel expand by doing so.  And for this, may you never want for anything nor your children.  In Jesus’ mighty name.

Yours Always,
